Living Coasts Aquarium

One of things that we were repeatedly told when we moved here was to take advantage of the season pass to the aquarium and zoo.  Because they are sister facilities, you get into both on the same pass!  Both are totally up our ally and we all had such a blast.   The best thing is that the aquarium is just a few miles from our house!

Ethan Jay hopping from iceberg to iceberg.

There are a ridiculous amount of pictures because there was so much to see.  I parred down quite a bit but there are too many, sorry!

We watched forever at these, puffins, I think, diving and swimming by us.  The kids were amazed!

Then we headed out to Penguin Beach.  We saw a sign before heading out that the penguins might bite so beware.  I thought, well if your sticking your hand inside the cage you deserve to get bit!

Yep, No, all of the animals out at penguin beach roamed free!  CRAZY!

First these ducks came up to us, I'm pretty sure they wanted to be feed!

And then there were the penguins!!!!!!!
Yep just walking right up to us!  Soooo Cooool!

This penguin was intent upon eating my camera strap!

Even as we were leaving the beach, we had a farewell from a group of penguins!

Can you tell I liked the penguins!

Then we meet the funniest sea lion!   He just sat there with his eyes closed swaying his head back and forth!

The kids loved running around this stage area and Robert about lost it because they weren't listening and we could both see them slipping and falling because the wood was very slick from the rain!

Loved watching the seal swim by and by.  This window was like one of those bubble windows and oddly enough all of our little ones were afraid to go in.  They are usually afraid of nothing, but it was kind of hard telling the depth perception of it and where it ended.

Loving the stingrays.

This was so cool!  The seal loved interacting with these cards that the aquarium had left out for us.  You could place them up to the window and the seal would come right up to and touch it with his nose!

Robert and I enjoying a few minutes of rest while the kids played at the beach.  Perfect because my hips were killing me!

Yep that's right, the beach!  What a great idea.  We had to pull the kids away to go see the other exhibits.

Poor Evie Kaye got her feelings hurt and needed a snuggle from Dadda!

The kids loved going through this tunnel and watching the fish swim overhead.

Don't leave Evie Kaye behind!  By the way those rings were quite heavy and she carried them all the way through the tunnel!

A little rock (starfish) climbing!

We fond another play area with a large puzzle, manipulatives, dress up, and coloring pages!

Evie Kaye enjoying a ride!

And no trip would be complete without a squashed penny, ohps, pence!

Well I don't have a picture but we got out new little one a baby penguin as a keepsake.  When I was pregnant with Ehan Jay, Robert and I went to the San Diego Zoo and bought him a penguin which is still one of his favorite stuffed animals today.  So it only seemed fitting that we would get new little brother one as well!

What a blast and can't wait to go to the zoo!
