A friend of mine, Sarah, asked me to join her at the hospital with her and her Mom for the birth of her 2nd child. Her husband is in Okinawa so she definitely needed the support. I received the phone call about 11:15 pm and met her at the hospital around midnight. It was such a wonderful and joyous experience to be able to be a part of and feel so blessed that I was able to be a part of such a precious moment of her life. The picture below is of Sarah speaking with her husband just moments before she gave birth.

Date Night!
Robert's work had a professional dinner and we had to get all fancied up to attend! It was so much fun shopping for a dress and shoes and jewelry. Such a treat! Robert even bought his very first suit! It was a little difficult finding a dress that would fit me and that I would still have room to grow into for a few weeks but I found one and it was on clearance! Robert's brother and sister-n-law, Art and Christ watched the children for the evening for us and we headed down to the dinner. It was strange being without the children for such a long period of time and especially eating without the children, another treat! We had a fantastic evening but by the end I was glad to get the dress and shoes off, this momma doesn't EVER wear heels anymore! Even more exciting going to get the little ones at the end!

Mom and Grandma Millie Visit
We had a great relaxing two weeks when my Mom and Grandma came in town to visit. We did a lot of relaxing and enjoying each others company. We even took the time to treat us to a manicure and pedicure! Such a special treat!
G.G. has introduced my little ones to the ice-cream truck and the kids love it! Ethan Jay can hear it down the street and wants to race out immediately to find it. Here they are enjoying some good treats.

Forest Home
We had the amazing experience of attending family camp at Forest Home for a week. We have had several friends who have attended for years and raved about how fantastic it was. I am so glad that we finally did it and can't believe we have waited so long. Growing together as a family closer to Christ in an absolutely beautiful setting, you just can't ask for more!
We started each day with breakfast as a family in the dining hall and then dropped the children off at "Chipmunk Corner were they had childcare, bible study and play while Robert and I had our morning session. Our focus this week was on the different names and attributes of God. We then picked up the children and had lunch back in the dining hall. After lunch we had all afternoon to do family activities: Horseback riding, lake, pool, put-put golf, carousel, fishing, art center, zip lining and ropes course. Of course a leisurly afternoon nap is always nice and icecream from the snack shack was not a bad idea. We then regrouped for dinner and then we were assigned two girls that came and stayed in our cabin with the children while we went to a evening conference. After the conference was over, we could even have date nights! I can not describe how amazing it is to get away from civilization, cellphones, t.v.'s and just everyday life! What a way to put all of this into perspective and have your focus put back onto the things that matter most; God and Family!
Ethan Jay and I making a cross at the art center. I glued but Ethan Jay put all of the tiles into place. He also painted a beautiful pine tree to add to our travel ornaments on our Christmas tree.
Some great friends that we meet with their son. They are actual the directors of the other camp that Forest Home has in Ojai valley a bit further north in California. Ethan Jay was glued to them and couldn't get enough of Mr. Guy!
Lake Day! The water was a little cold but that didn't stop the guys or the kids!
Robert and Ethan Jay jumping off of the water trampoline. You can't see Ethan Jay's face, but let's just say, he's a bit less thrilled than Robert!
Playing put-put golf. Just look at the beautiful setting behind us! So Cool!
Going Fishing!
Waiting for the fish to bite. Others brought scraps from lunch but we didn't know that little trick. We were given marshmallows to put on the hooks and I think the fish were all marshmallowed out!
So sad to see our week end but excited about going back down the mountain closer as a family and ready to put into place all of the things we have learned this week about ways to make our home and family more christ centered!

Happy 4th of July!
No matter how you celebrate it, the 4th of July is always a blast! This year was as great as all others. We went down to our local city park and there were tons of venders, games, a great band and literally thousands of people. We drove around for nearly an hour before Robert dropped us off and then went and parked about 1 mile away. Well it was definitely worth it. Robert's family was still in town so they were with us and then a friend of mine, Sarah meet as well with her 2 year old daughter, Bailey. The fireworks were spectacular, by far the very best firework display I have ever seen with music to accompany them. It was truly a magical night!
