Robert's 30th Birthday!

We had a great time celebrating Robert's Birthday! He came home from work early and I had a big evening planned. Ethan Jay went to a friends house for a play date and then we went to the movies and then out to dinner at a Steakhouse in town. It was so much fun going on a date! We went and picked Ethan Jay up and Robert opened his presents and we had doughnuts for Roberts birthday! We both love Krispy Kreme, but the closest one is an hour away. So earlier in the day, I drove down and got him (us!) some. It was a perfect day!

Brody's 4th Birthday!

It's hard to believe that Brody had been with us for 3 years. He was 1 when we got him from the shelter and he is such a sweet dog. A bit needy, but sweet! We had fun celebrating his birthday with our friends who often keep him if we go out of town. You can see the mini chocolate doggy cupcakes that Sophie is holding. Also Broday is in the process of chewing his cupcake not snarling at the camera!

Ethan Jay enjoying a human cupcake!

Vinny, had just gotten some new lures for his birthday and wanted to try them out in the pool to see how they moved under the water. He is a super-duper avid fisherman and Ethan Jay loved learning a few tricks from him!

So the kids started by putting just their feet in the water but of course it progressed to much of their bodies! They had a blast! (Jake-3, Sophie-7, Ethan Jay-2)

January in the Wolf Den

Look at my two little angels. I can't believe that Emma Ann is big enough to sit up like this! She is not quite 3 months old yet. She is growing and changing so quickly. With Ethan Jay I couldn't wait for him to reach new milestones but with Emma Ann I don't want to rush anything! It's funny how your perspective can change in such a short time.

Emma Ann taking a nap. Doesn't she look so peaceful!

Ethan Jay with his backpack and his water cup. He is ready to go! Ethan Jay is such a big boy and doing new things everyday. It wasn't long ago that we would put his backpack on him and it would tip him backwards!

Ethan Jay and cousin Jaelyn watching a movie and having snacks with their sleeping bags on the floor. Who else wants to go back and be a kid again?!?!

Yep, Emma Ann taking another nap! She likes those arms thrown up over her head! Some of you might be asking, "Is that a summer outfit that she is wearing in January?" and yes she is. We have had an extremely mild winter with a lot of days in the 70's and some days in the 80's.
Okay, so we had went for a walk with one of our neighbors and stopped at the park. Ethan Jay doesn't love leaving the park but usually obeys. Well this day, he threw a tantrum the whole way back home. He kicked and screamed and threw himself around in the stroller for the whole mile home. I knew he was tired and hungry because he had refused to eat breakfast or any snacks. So we got home and all he wanted was ice cream. Now many of you are saying surely she did not give him ice cream for lunch, but yes I did! Sometimes it's not worth the fight and at this point in time I just wanted a calm child. Guess what, it worked! A few moments later I looked over to find him fast asleep. It's amazing what love can do to someone (me). To be so frustrasted and to have my heart melted all at the same time.

So, of course Ethan Jay didn't sleep very long but also didn't want to go back down for a nap in his bed. Later in the day I found him in the living room fast asleep again! Notice his missing sock. Can anyone find it? Yes, that is it on his hand again!
Side Note: The other day we were leaving to go meet Robert for our usual Wednesday night dinner at Subway before Bible study and Ethan Jay insisted that he wear MY dirty socks on his hands. I thought about making him take them off and also thought about the fight that that would entail and decided that it really wasn't that big of a deal. So we got a few strange looks but that was okay because we had a happy "interesting" child and a happy Mom!

Anyone see a trend here? Also does anyone see how small this 3 month outfit is on her!

Ethan Jay being well, Ethan Jay! He is so quirky! We love him so!
