September in the Wolf Den

We had a super busy month with tons of fun activities.  It seems like we had to schedule in time to just stay at home and hang out!

Our neighbor has an apple tree and brought us some apples.  I started peeling away to make an apple crumble and the kids devoured the apple peels.  Hey, no waste!

They are really starting to enjoy playing together.  It is so much fun to see them becoming little friends and enjoy being together!

Ethan Jay loves to run into sisters room when he hears her wake up and he promptly dumps her toys into her crib and then climbs in himself!  He instantly calms her and I hear them in there giggling up a storm!  So very sweet!

We had a friend and her family over for pizza night and her birthday!  Everyone created their own pizza which was so much fun and then we enjoyed some yummy cake!

Ethan Jay really enjoys engineering "contraptions!"  He finds the most unique things to put together to make something new.  It so amazing to see the gifts of creativity and ingenuity that God has given him.

So we heard Ethan Jay calling us for help and we rounded the corner and had to hold back the laughter.  He had climbed up on the outside of the stairs and then couldn't get down.  He was actually a little scared which is interesting because he is usually afraid of nothing.

We were out shopping with a friend and Ethan Jay and his friend, Ava were having a ball on one of the little rides.

Bath Time!  Favorite time of the day for both of these little ones.  Emma Ann literally screams like a little wild monkey when you take her out!

Emma Ann ~ 11 months old

I can't believe the life in this little girl that brightens and flourishes before our eyes each day.  She is really turning into a little person who definitely has likes and dislikes and really enjoying playing with toys and with her big brother!

Ethan Jay's Pics

Ethan Jay is master sneaky photographer.  I will often times walk into the room and find my camera in an odd place.  Later on I turn it on to take a picture and find the most interesting pictures already on the camera.  I finally found the culprit in the act and it was just as I had expected a little 2 1/2 year old boy taking random pictures or in some cases setting things up to take pictures of them.  Kind of crazy and neat!
I wasn't sure weather to scold him or to tell him good job!

Park Day

The kids love the park.  This park is just a few miles from the house and is one of their favorites.  Here the kids are enjoying the swings which they could stay on all day.  Sweet, sweet fun!

The Big Move

It's official, were moving.  We won't know for atleast two months where exactly in North Carolina but we will be somewhere there before Christmas!  This is such a bitter sweet move for us.  We have always wanted to move closer to home but as most of you know we just bought this home about a year and a half ago and we have grown to love the town we live in, our church and our friends!  On the other hand we are very excited about only being a few hours away from family and the many oppurtunities that we will be able to partake in in North Carolina!

Pizza! Pizza!

About a year ago we started having pizza night every friday night.  It was something that we all looked forward to each week.  We decided that we would start making our own pizza.  No the crust is not homemade, we bought it out of the deli section and let it rise and then topped it with homemade pizza sauce and lot's of great toppings.  As you can see it was a big hit.  Even Ethan Jay ate it and he normally does not like pizza!  What  a great experience and we can't wait to try new toppings next week!

Apple Picking

We made our annual trip to Julian this weekend to go apple picking. It was hot as usual which seems unusual for a fall activity, but it is always blazing when we go! We had a great time picking apples, stopping for apple pie and getting some goodies to bring home with us! Each year not only do we bring home a bag or two of apples, but we often times eat our weight in apples before we leave the orchard!

Here's our loot! Lot's of great apples, apple butter, and local cucumbers and tomatos. We also purchased some local eggs that didn't make it in the picture.

Homemade apple fritters! So scrumptious! It's got to be good when it comes from Paula Deen!

Ethan Jay and Emma Ann enjoying our treat!

My first completely homemade appple pie! I've made homemade pie before but never the crust as well! Pretty impressed with myself!
