Letter P for the Prodigal Son

We studied letter P this week and had the most fun with popcorn kernels.

Here Ethan Jay and Emma Ann put the right number of kernels into each trough for the pigs!

And a popping P!

We have been practicing "The Pledge of Allegiance."

We read a cute story called "Rabbit's Pajama Party" and brought our pillows and blankets and stuffed animals into the hall way to snuggle up with as we read it!

We had a picnic,

with Peppers, Peanut butter sandwich, Pickles and Pears!

We also watched "March of the Penguins", it took us almost all day off and on to watch it but the kids really enjoyed it and we all learned so much.  It is really quite educational.

We also had a Party to celebrate the return home of the Prodigal son.  We discussed a lot about forgiveness this week and loving others even when they may have not made the best choice.

We had been wanting to introduce our neighbors to corn dogs so this was the perfect evening to do so!

And you can't have a party without a cake!

We also danced to the "Popcorn" song by Greg and Steve, super fun!

And of course had some yummy popcorn.  If you have never done this, you NEED to!  Place 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels into a small paper bag and fold down the top a few times.  Place in the microwave for about 2 minutes 15 seconds (or more or less for your microwave, until you hear the kernels slowing down) and voila, homemade popcorn!  You can drizzle over some melted butter, salt, parmesan cheese or even some sweet chocolate or caramel!  But to be honest my little one's enjoy it just plain!

We also read the book, "Benny's Pennies."  Super adorable about a little boy who has 5 pennies and sets out and buts each person in his family a special treat with his money.  What  great story of love, thoughtfulness and money management!

They each decided what they would buy with their own five pennies!

Mothering Sunday

In England, they celebrate "Mothering Sunday" in March.  Robert's work had a family event and we spent a great afternoon with picture perfect weather!

More beautiful flowers from my sweet pea!

Nothing like a stick fight in your best outfits!

My handsome young man, and the first to make me a Mommy!

My sweet little Evie Kaye.  I love her sweet soul.

Ethan Jay had the best time with a new friend!

There was the coolest petting zoo with this bearded dragon, a very friendly chicken, a hedgehog, and of course bunnies and guniea pigs!

Learning a little about bad minton.

There was the neatest magic show.

And face painting!

Evie Kaye desperately wanted some painting as well but then of course became my most reserved little one when it was time.

Sweet love

Ethan Jay helping out in the magic show!

My beautiful little butterfly!

And Evie Kaye with her puppy!

Ethan Jay made me the sweetest card at church.

We actually took the cutest family picture but it was done by a photographer there.  I will have to see if I can scan it in.  I love my sweet one's and am so blessed to be intrusted to them and have this day to celebrate the gift's that God has given me to be a Mother.

Martha and Mary, O is for Opposites

We discussed the story of Jesus at Martha and Mary's house and how they acted in complete opposite ways.

We stamped our letter O with o's from a bottle cap.

We made STOP signs to remind us that we need to stop sometimes and be still and listen to others.

We practiced this Bible verse and played a matching game with it.

“Be still, and know that I am God.”  Psalm 46:10

We also went on a hunt around the house for opposites.

Do you see poor Evie Kaye in the background.  Her heart is broken that she felt left out.

Babysitting

We had the pleasure of babysitting our neighbors dogs, Muffin and Scone today!  The kids could not have been more thrilled!

Ready for a walk!

Out to the garden for a little exercise for all.

The girls were so cute.  They were going fishing with the leashes over the edge and look, Evie Kaye caught something!

The girls loved walking on this like a balance beam.

We have some good dog walkers and some happy doggies!

A Little Picnic

We had all been watching a movie together when all of the kids disappeared and it got really quiet.  That can be really scary!  So Robert went to go check on them and this is what he found.

They were all in the kitchen making a surprise picnic for us!
How sweet!

Nothing like apples heated in the microwave!
Their favorite thing to make!

Sweet Ethan Jay with drinks for Robert and I, some sour cream for dip and a bag of fruit!

And even my littlest munchkin helping out!

The food and company could not have been any better!
Do you notice who is missing, yep, our photographer, Ethan Jay!

And a little musical entertainment!

I loved every minute of it!
