Letter P for the Prodigal Son

We studied letter P this week and had the most fun with popcorn kernels.

Here Ethan Jay and Emma Ann put the right number of kernels into each trough for the pigs!

And a popping P!

We have been practicing "The Pledge of Allegiance."

We read a cute story called "Rabbit's Pajama Party" and brought our pillows and blankets and stuffed animals into the hall way to snuggle up with as we read it!

We had a picnic,

with Peppers, Peanut butter sandwich, Pickles and Pears!

We also watched "March of the Penguins", it took us almost all day off and on to watch it but the kids really enjoyed it and we all learned so much.  It is really quite educational.

We also had a Party to celebrate the return home of the Prodigal son.  We discussed a lot about forgiveness this week and loving others even when they may have not made the best choice.

We had been wanting to introduce our neighbors to corn dogs so this was the perfect evening to do so!

And you can't have a party without a cake!

We also danced to the "Popcorn" song by Greg and Steve, super fun!

And of course had some yummy popcorn.  If you have never done this, you NEED to!  Place 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels into a small paper bag and fold down the top a few times.  Place in the microwave for about 2 minutes 15 seconds (or more or less for your microwave, until you hear the kernels slowing down) and voila, homemade popcorn!  You can drizzle over some melted butter, salt, parmesan cheese or even some sweet chocolate or caramel!  But to be honest my little one's enjoy it just plain!

We also read the book, "Benny's Pennies."  Super adorable about a little boy who has 5 pennies and sets out and buts each person in his family a special treat with his money.  What  great story of love, thoughtfulness and money management!

They each decided what they would buy with their own five pennies!
