Playdate with Abraham

We had little Abraham over for a playdate today.  He is just one month younger than Emma Ann so they had a blast together.  And of course Ethan Jay had fun supervising them and helping them play.  He really was so very sweet to them!  I can't believe that this is the only picture I got of them playing, but they played so well together.  Usually children at this age aren't so big on sharing, but they were perfect little angels!

These magnets had not been unpacked since the move and it was like Christmas taking them out again!  The kids could not get enough of them and they were entertained all afternoon!



Unbelievably sweet, can't even believe that I was able to get a picture of this!  I think I might actually cry a little bit looking at it.  What sweet, sweet love!  I love their little hearts!

Out little bird family!

So I have been noticing two birds flying up to our door and landing on our wreath.  I finally realized that they have scouted out this location for their nest.  Sure enough they began building their nest and it is pretty much complete.  They have built it up on the wreath which I have mixed feelings about.  What a great experience to be able to see baby birds being born but I'm sure the wreath will be trash afterwards and the door is sure to be a mess and I'm honestly not sure how loud baby birds will be chirping at our front door; but I guess it's worth it.  What a neat experience!  

Evie Kaye ~ 5 weeks old

My baby girl is already 5 weeks old!  She has the craziest hair!  It just stands up all over the place!  She precious anyways though!  She has been giving us some half-way smiles!  I can't ever catch any good ones with the camera though, but here are my attempts!



Yep, I'm taking the picture, and am not so cute in it, but baby girl is and that's what matters!

Okay, this isn't exactly a smile, more of a stink face, but cute in it's on rite!



Surprise! Surprise!

I walked out this morning to find this beautiful flowering blooming right in front of the house.  I guess the plant had popped up sometime before, but I had not even noticed it.  They must have been planted by the previous owners and are beautiful!  Can't wait to see if anything else pops up!

Evie Kaye~1 month old, Emma Ann~16 months old

My two girls.  I can't believe it.  Evie Kaye already one month old and Emma Ann is definitely excelling in her role as "Big Sister"!  Emma Ann is still in love with Evie Kaye and loves to give her nice big wet kisses right on the mouth!  She also enjoys throwing away the babies diaper which is for sure a help to Momma!  Evie Kaye is just such a precious little gift.  She sleeps alot and when she wakes up, she eats.  That's about it.  She very rarely cry's and is always content if someone is holding her!  Loving are sweet girls and the joy that they bring our family!

Magic Show!

So out of nowhere the other day, I found Ethan Jay setting up his magic show.  He was very specific in what he needed and how he set everything up.  We then had to sit (in the chair he had set up) and watch his performance.  So very sweet and creative!

My Mom brought up a beautiful bassinet that my Nannie had to take pictures of the baby in.  They turned out so cute with all of the baby blankets. 

Evie Kaye's baby blanket made by Grandma Millie!  She makes a blanket for each grandchild born which is so unbelievably sweet.  I still have the one she made me and it is hanging on the wall in Evie Kaye's room!

Ethan Jay and Emma Ann wanted in on the fun too!  This white blanket with little pink rosettes was actually one of my baby blankets made by a family friend, Mrs. Mary Ellen Fishburne.  Emma Ann has latched onto it and now calls it her own.  She insists upon sleeping on top of it each and every nap and night-time.  She is so sweet with it and as you can see has a very close relationship with it!

Evie Kaye ~ 4 weeks old!

What a beautiful creation of God she is!  She is growing and changing everyday.  She really loves to be with someone and if not here is the next best thing (bundled up in a blanket and snug in a boppy).  I believe she feels like she is being held, even if she isn't!

Visit from Vickie and Andy

We had a great visit from my cousin Vickie and her husband Andy today!  What a special treat.  It was fantastic to visit with them and just have a relaxing day hanging out.

Evie Kaye's 1st Bath

Evie Kaye had had several wipe down bath's but had not yet been in the bathtub for a full bath.  She thuroughly enjoyed herself and was in awe through out it all.  Interesting fact, Abraham Lincoln called his third son tad because he had such a smaller lower body but a large head and torso, kind of like a tadpole!  I would say that we might have our own tad in our family.  Emma Ann definitely favors this body type as well, but Evie Kaye is for sure going to be our little "Tadd!"

Happy Valentines Day!

 We had a great Valentine's Day with a celebration all day long!  The kids came down to mailboxes with their names on them and little goodies inside and then later on that night they received special valentines from their Momma and Dada.  I think it is going to be a sweet tradition that we continue to celebrate each year.

Valentine Treats

We decided to make heart shaped sugar cookies to give as gifts for Valentines Day.  The kids always love helping and help they did!  They wanted to be part of every step which always entails a little more time and a lot more clean up, but it is so worth it.  To see them learn and grow and explore and beam from ear to ear is priceless.  The cookies turned out great and of course they were super yummy!
