March in the Wolf Den

Look at him go! I can't believe he is hanging on the monkey bars all on his own!

One of my favorites memories as a child was baking with my Momma and getting to lick the beaters as the cookies or cake was baking. It is so special to me to be able to share this memory with my children. Ethan Jay loves to help me cook and we try and bake something yummy atleast once a week. He is becoming such a good little chef.

Emma Ann enjoying her boucer. She can really go to town and is one of her favorite places to be besides in someone's arms!

Emma Ann loves real people food. Anytime you are eating she is eagerly trying to get at it. Here she is enjoying a strawberry and she loves it!

While I was pregnant with Emma Ann, several of the ultrasounds showed her playing with her feet and even sucking on her toes. Well she has just rediscovered her toes and love them. One of her top favorite toys lately!

One of our stay at home jammy days. I love them!

Could one little girl have any more toys for a car ride?

Not only is he sorting them by color but he is also stashing a few in his shirt pocket for safe keeping.

What a sweet moment, playing the guitar with Dada!

Umh, this sure is good. It seems that everything she finds, goes in her mouth. I have really had to watch what is around her. I have also had to be careful what Ethan Jay shares with her. He loves to share, but I found him giving her goldfish and another time coins! We sure do not want a trip to the emergency room!

Emma Ann's first time eating rice cereal. She wasn't so sure if she liked it, but we will try, try again!

Ethan Jay loves to help us do everything we are doing: cooking, washing dishes, folding laundry, cleaning the toilet, fixing something using tools and of course mowing the lawn.

Brother and sister playing together. I can't wait until she is a little bit older and they really can interact together more.

She really loves being with him.

Here is a picture of the moon from our front porch when it's orbit was closest to the earth.

Paisley's 1st B-Day!

Our friend Paisley was turning one and we were so happy to help her celebrate at an indoor play place called Sensory Time. Ethan Jay had a blast and I can see us spending many a hot summer day there!

Ethan Jay loved the trampoline! Just his size!

Yet another bouncy toy! He sure was burning some energy! Yeah!

There was this super cute room where the lights were dimmed and the walls looked like you were underwater from the bubble lights! Ethan Jay loved the bubbles and the fish.

He also found another favorite, Trains! I actually had to drag him away from the table after 30 minutes!

What's that?

Oh yeah, that's Ethan Jay swinging inside of the hammock! He couldn't get enough of this and wanted to keep going. There were many swing attachments to hook up and I can't wait to go back and try them out!

Emma Ann ~ 5 months old

What an amazing gift and blessing Emma Ann has been to our family. Each day I am reminded of how great God is by looking at my children grow right before my eyes. Emma Ann has the sweetest personality and is the typical little girl who talks all the time and loves to be right in the mix of everything! She doesn't require lot's of fancy toys or gadgets, she just wants to be with you and she is the happiest little girl ever!

Our Bro-Bro (Brody), coming under the bridge that Ethan Jay constructed with pillows between the couch and the ottoman.

Ethan Jay often asks to wear sister's bows. I don't think he's quite figured out the boy/girl thing yet. That's fine by me!

I had layed her in the mamasan chair for a quick minute to change over some laundry and when I got back I found that he had climbed up in the chair and was showing her his Mr. Potato Head. Sooooooo Sweet! Seeing his loving heart for his sister is so very special!

Emma Ann enjoying her first teething biscuit. I think she's enjoying it.

Duck Friends

We were sitting at dinner and Robert looked out the window and said "Hey, we have ducks in our backyard!" I couldn't believe it. There they were. A female and a male duck swimming in our pool. The next minute they had spotted us at the window and instead of flying off, they jumped out of the pool and waddled right on up! Ethan Jay was extatic and loved feeding them. So was Brody! The ducks returned for two more afternoons at the same time 5 pm. I was sad that they didn't return after that but it was probably for the best because I don't believe that dogs and ducks are the best of friends. We enjoyed them while they visited though!

Blue Grass Festival

Our town had a Blue Grass festival and we were excited to head down and listen to the music. It was a little chilly but well worth the venture out. This band had several young members around 14-16 years old. Pretty impressive! Ethan Jay of course loved the music. I always knew he would love music because while I was pregnant with him. When we were at church and the band started, he started! He would start going crazy kicking and squirming all around and it is still true today. He will be in a fast run and hear music and will stop to dance a jig! Here he is and the pictures truly don't do it any justice! Here he is trying to get his friend, Ava to join in! And time for Dada to join in as well. Ethan Jay even got to try out a little violin. A couple their hand made each violin and the wife gave lessons. Pretty neat!

St. Patty's Day

We had a great day on St. Patrick's Day. We had bible study at church and the day before we had a party at a friends house. The kids loved all of the green food and looking for leprechaun gold in the back yard! Here is some of Ethan Jay's loot! St. Patty's day morning we awoke to a trail of fuit loops that a sneaky leprechaun had left at our house. It started right outside of Ethan Jay's door. At first he was a little confused but once I told him he could eat them and he had to follow the trail, he was pretty excited! Still going! A fun surprise and breakfast all in one! Here is the end of the trail and a special surprise! Ethan Jay decided that it was fun to race back and forth past the last of the trail. He loves to follow paths and I often draw him one on the driveway out front and he loves hopping along it.

Planting Our Garden!

Growing up I loved planting a garden. We planted one every year and it produced the most amazing vegetables that we would eat all year long. Even when I went to college I had my Mom and Dad come to Charleston and help me plant a garden in my very little front yard! Each year in California I have planted a small garden but this year it was time for a family project! The whole family helped and we had a great time picking out the plants and planting them. I can't wait until we have some yummy veggies to pick. We planted some new things this year and I'm not sure how they will turn out, but we will see in a few months! Here are the things we planted: slicing tomatos, cherry tomatos, sweet banana peppers, cayene peppers, habanero peppers, corn, potatos, broccoli, asparagus, artichokes and a pumpkin! We also have some carrot seeds but I need to find a place to plant them. Here Ethan Jay is helping prepare the soil. Ethan Jay planting one of the tomato plants. Phew, this is hard work! Emma Ann doing her part: Pep Squad! The next day. All the plants are planted and inspecting our work. The plant right up front is the broccoli! Plants need soil, sun and . . . water! Ethan Jay loves watering the plants. Here he is watering the corn.
