Halloween

Our little "lion" and our "kitty cat" on Halloween.
We had several outfits for her but they were all way too big!
Getting ready to head out to go trick-0r-treating!

Emma Ann trick-or-treating at our neighbors house
at only 9 days old! You know girls love chocolate!

Ethan Jay trick-or-treating at Mr. Terry and Mrs. Barbara's house.
These were our neighbors that came down and stayed with Ethan Jay
while we went to the hospital! What a blessing they have been to us!

Back at home, Ethan Jay trick-or-treats and gets some goodies
from Auntie Fayth before they head off to the airport.

What a fun Halloween! Robert was gone last year and Ethan Jay was a bit to young to really understand what was going on so this was our first year going out trick-or-treating. We only went to a few houses on our street, but it was just right for a 22 month old and a newborn!
If anyone thinks that Ethan Jay looks a little loopy in the pictures, it's because he is! A few days before he was at the doctors with the start of Bronchitus (sp) and was put on a cough syrup. Robert read the instructions wrong and had been giving him a double dose for several days! We didn't realize it until the next day when the medicine was almost gone after only a few days! You get a couple of slides with this parenting thing, right?!?!

Pictures of our little ones!

What sweet LOVE!
Emma Ann is 1 week old in these pictures!

Ethan Jay is enamored with his baby sister.
Hopefully it stays that way!
I walked in yesterday to find him trying
to console her by kissing her and attempting
to pick her up, just a little scary but oh so sweet!

Ethan Jay loves balloons, balls and bubbles!

Anybody else see a pattern?

Welcoming Baby Emma Ann Wolf

Announcing the Arrival of Baby Emma Ann Wolf!

19 Inches, 7 lbs 12 oz.

Born at 4:35 am on October 22nd.

The arrival of Emma Ann was a very anticipated event. For the past week or so, I had been having contractions. They would progress to about 6 minutes apart, but would never get any closer or more intense. We had a few nights in which we thought we would be heading to the hospital . . . but no such luck! On Wednesday night, I had a really bad stomach virus. I spent the whole night, from about 1:00-5:30 am, violently vomitting. I was so worn out from the night's ordeal that I spent the majority of Thursday on the couch trying to recover.

If there was one good thing about the previous night's vomitting, it was that my contractions were a little more consistent and felt a bit stronger that they previously had. I spent all day having contractions about 6 minutes apart. Though they were stronger, the contractions did not get any closer.

That evening we decided to try and help things out by going on a walk. I returned from the walk absolutely exhausted. Unfortunately, instead of helping my contractions, they were now about 8 minutes apart. Disappointed, we went to bed, but we wouldn't stay disappointed for very long.

At 2 a.m. Friday morning, I had a dream that I was having a contraction. I woke up to find that I was actually having contractions. I could tell that these were the real deal. I woke up Robert and we labored at home until about 3:50 a.m. At that time we went to the hospital.

Lucky for us the hospital is only a few minutes away. We got to the hospital about 4:00 a.m. and I was taken back to the labor/delivery room. Much to my dismay, Robert had to stay and move the car and do the admission paperwork. Once in the room I was checked and told that I was 8-9 cm dialated and 90% effaced. Robert arrived a short bit later. I could tell that the baby was ready to come and told the nurse so. The nurse informed me that the pressure I felt was the baby getting into position and that I had time. Robert and I informed her that this was not the baby "getting into position" and that she better be ready to catch the baby.

The nurse had a change of mind and decided to check me again. She quickly determined that indeed the baby was on the way. The only thing preventing the baby's birth was that my water was still intact. The nurse told me that I would have to wait for the doctor before delivering. I, being the patient and understanding laboring woman that I was, quickly informed her that the baby was not waiting on anyone and that she would be perfectly suitable for delivering the baby.

At that exact moment, the doctor entered the room. She was quickly brought up to speed and I started pushing. Less than 8 minutes and 3 contractions later, Emma Ann Wolf had entered this world. She was definitely worth the wait!

Whenever she is completely content, she loves to fold her hands.

She can't get any cuter than this!

Ethan Jay's New Shoes.

One of Ethan's favorite past-times is to wear mommy and daddy's shoes around the house. He has found out that a pair of Heather's shoes makes a really loud noise on the floor, so they have become his favorite shoes to wear.

He can do pretty good tap dance in them as well!
(Guess he doesn't know not to wear white after Labor Day!)

Update on Ethan Jay

Ethan Jay loves to feed Brody. He can't scoop it out of the bin, but he takes it to the dish, dumps it in, spreads it out so it is even (don't know where he got that from), calls Brody to the dish, and puts the cup back in the bin! Got to start them young with the chores, right!

Ethan Jay has such a personality!

One of his favorite things to do is to put socks on his hands. He also loves the camera, can you tell?

We initially started our blog by taking a

picture of Ethan Jay byhis bear "Oatmeal".

So here is the update on his growth progression.

It seems as if he has had a growth spurt over the last

21 months!

Ethan Jay loves to do everything that we do, so to try and help out for when the baby comes, we decided to get Ethan Jay his very own little sister that he can help take care of. We didn't realize how big of a hit it would be. He carries her all around the house, strolls her in her stroller, gives her love, sleeps with her and notice the little diaper she is sporting!

I know alot of you guys are cringing out there, but hopefully we haven't scarred him too badly!

GUESS WHO?!?!

We are trying to keep busy while we wait "patiently" on baby girl to arrive who is taking her slow sweet time!

Back up and running.

Hello Family and Friends,

We have been flagrantly negligent in keeping this blog up-to-date. Well, we are now trying to get things back and going with the blog. For the sake of brevity, we will give you the the Cliff Notes version of the lost time, lol. Here goes:

Ethan Jay is now 22 months old. He is absolutley a great joy and gift. Though, as with any toddler, he does have his "moments", he is a very loving and precious child.

We are expecting a new addition to the family any day now. Heather is about 37 1/2 weeks pregnant with a baby girl, and since Ethan was born at 37 weeks, we are expecting history to repeat itself. Heather is more than ready.

Brody is doing well. He is generally enjoying his life, though he spends a lot of time trying to stay away from Ethan Jay. Ethan really loves Brody, but doesn't always express that love in the most gentle manner. On the plus side, Ethan gives Brody plenty of treats throughout the day. Overall it's a pretty good situation that I think they are both happy with.

This is just a quick post to get things back up and running. We will be trying to post a lot more regularly (the goal is once a week). We will probably throw a few more posts up this week to cover a some of the major events over the past few months. Until then, we hope you enjoy this tidbit of a post. Talk to you soon.

Love,

The Wolf Family
