Apple Picking

We made our annual trip to Julian this weekend to go apple picking. It was hot as usual which seems unusual for a fall activity, but it is always blazing when we go! We had a great time picking apples, stopping for apple pie and getting some goodies to bring home with us! Each year not only do we bring home a bag or two of apples, but we often times eat our weight in apples before we leave the orchard!

Here's our loot! Lot's of great apples, apple butter, and local cucumbers and tomatos. We also purchased some local eggs that didn't make it in the picture.

Homemade apple fritters! So scrumptious! It's got to be good when it comes from Paula Deen!

My first completely homemade appple pie! I've made homemade pie before but never the crust as well! Pretty impressed with myself!
