Kent's Cavern

It is amazing that there are soooo many neat places to visit within just a few miles of us.  Kent's Cavern is a cave that has been excavated for quite some time and has been used for 100's of years.  It is open to the public and it was so awesome!

There was a children's center there where the kids could uncover fossils in the sand,

draw on the masks with chalk,

make cave drawings,

and even do some crayon etchings!

So many neat experiences for the kids!

Then our whole group (the other people going on the guided tour at the same time as us) all crowded around this door and waited.  This is the entrance into the caves.  How cool is that!

Amazing that this is what was just on the other side of that door!

It went back for some ways.  We went down one corridor and then back out and into another.  Glad we had a tour guide!

Evie Kaye had a little ride along the way!

Do you see the face?!?!

Robert checking out how the rocks were formed.

Our guide was great.  Lot's of neat information.  He was telling us about the stalagmites and stalactites here.  Those are the things sticking up from the floor of the cave and the ones hanging down that look like icicles.  We had just learned about these on a Bernstein Bears episode and the kids were so excited that they knew all about them!

Emma Ann tasting the water dripping down, I'm sure very good for her!

Loved, loved, loved our time here and glad to have a season pass and can't wait to come back!
