Day 1 ~ Setting Off ~ Up to Buxton

So we were off.  We were supposed to head up to York which is about a 5 hour drive but we didn't quite make it there.  It took us longer to break everything down than we had originally planned.  Then we had to stop by and exchange our gas tanks because they were empty and we didn't realize it.  Try cooking with out gas, not so productive!  Then we finally head out and poor Emma Ann has terrible tummy issues.  We literally stopped 6 times in a row for her to go to the bathroom!  All in about a 50 mile stretch.  So needless to say, we had to find somewhere closer to stop for the night.  We stopped in Buxton and it was beautiful.  We definitely would like to go back and spend some time in that area, but we were just passing through this time.  We wanted to head straight up to Scotland and spend the bulk of our trip their.  So overall it was still a good day.

Heading out of the campsite and starting our journey.

These two babies sat in my lap for most of the trip.  The book is the caravan club site book and has a page for each site listing it's amenities and directions.  Many directions on your GPS won't bring you in on a good route so all of the sites have alternate routes for your final approach to avoid narrow roads.  And this map proved indispensable.  I bought it for Robert for Christmas, mainly because I like maps, and we definitely could not have made the trip with out it.

A cute town that we drove through.

And a beautiful sunset.

The landscapes were just gorgeous.

This was our approach to the campsite.  Those white things to the right are . . .

Sheep.  Yep, lot's of sheep just grazing and no fences.  So neat!  There was even a bench in the middle of the field and a family sat just watching the sheep graze.  So sweet.

This was our view from our pitch.  How beautiful!
