A Drive Down to the Beach

We had to go out for an errand and decided to take a drive down to the beach.  We have been wanting to go down, but so busy unpacking and it has been raining off and on so much so we are just getting down.  You can walk down which I am sure we will be doing a lot, but with how cold it is we decided to just take a drive down and take a peek.

The road down is narrow and very twisty-turvy.  If you look, that house off to your right is ours.  The beach is just down about 1/2 mile, but winds back-n-forth so it really actually isn't that far.

One of the many sharp curves.  You have to beep the horn as you are going so that if someone is coming up they will know you are coming down!  Most of the way you can narrowly fit by each other, but there are a few places where it is single file so you have to find somewhere to pull over.

And down to the beach.  A bit different than the beaches that we are used to but still so beautiful!

This is the Cary Arms Hotel.  They have rooms/cottages to rent, a spa and apparently very good food.  I think we could spend many a summer day down here having lunch and watching the water!

You actually walk around to the beach over there.  I can see myself now lugging all the kids and all the beach stuff over and back up again.  Oh well, that's part of a great day at the beach, right!

There are these really neat paths down through the woods that are nice to walk down on.  I'm sure we are going to have lot's of fun hours exploring.

And that little room sticking off is my sewing room.  The views are AMAZING!  We found out the scaffolding is there because they were doing some repairs to it before we moved in.  I think they have forgotten about it though!
