London ~ Day 3

Day 3 started off at the Waterloo Station to take the subway over to the zoo.
Such a beautiful entrance.

We passed by a Whole Foods (oddly enough) after we got off of the subway and were walking over to the zoo.  It was a little early for lunch, but we decided to go ahead and stop before we got to the zoo and eat.  The kids loved the eclectic, thrown together feast and we didn't have to pay zoo prices for mediocre food!

We had a beautiful walk along this river for a bit just before we got to the zoo.

And these sweet sisters steal my heart!

We watched the tiger feeding first and it was amazing to see him so up close.  Notice the bird right by the tiger that doesn't seem to be afraid at all!

Emma Ann couldn't wait to see the camels.  She loves them and talks about them all the time.  Notice her playing with her hair.  I'm actually surprised she has any hair left in that part of her head, because she does this all the time.  She actually get's really upset when I pull her hair all up in a pony tail because she can't play with it!

We saw a really cool bird and small animal show.

And of course we had to ride on the merry-go-round!

Emma Ann waved to everyone as she went around!  Hilarious!

Off to the penguins.

Ethan Jay was super excited to show them his own penguin!

And a little stop at the playground.
Ethan Jay meet a little boy there and they were having a fun time playing tag.  All of a sudden I found Ethan Jay sulking and a bit sad, I asked what was wrong and he said that the boy had faster shoes than he did!  Oh my, what do you say to that one!  Broken hearted for him and laughing at his cuteness all at once!

There was a small aquarium there and Emma Ann could not have been more amazed.   She said almost the exact phrase as she ran from tank to tank, "Oh, my, this is AMAZING!  Momma look at these fish, take a picture."  and then she would run to the next tank and say the exact same thing and just as ecstatic as at the last!

And Evie Kaye bites the dust again!  Poor thing, she has passed out each and every day while we have been out.  It is tiring trying to see all of London in just a few days.

This monkey was hysterical.  He kept reaching through the fence at us!

And over to pet the goats!

We went into an avery type area and weren't sure what to expect and before we knew it we were surrounded by these little monkeys.  They were super friendly to say the least!

We made it to the giraffe feeding and talk and could not have been in a better spot.  I could have reached out and touched this gentle giant and loved every minute of it!  It was interesting to learn that giraffes are pregnant for something like 14 months and I felt a little bit better about only carrying my little one's for only 9!

And a little ice cream after a long days walk at the zoo definitely fits the bill!

And another subway ride home.  Ethan Jay looks like he is beginning to get the hang of this!

And Evie Kaye's favorite spot, up on Dadda's shoulders!  She has spent so much time there this week!

We stopped for dinner at this Mediterranian restaurant just around the corner from our hotel and the food was amazing!  One of the first really stellar meals that I have had in the U.K. so far!

I loved these lights that they had hanging everywhere.

My dish was sautéed shrimp with peppers, onions and tomatoes and I had a greek salad that was loaded with cucumbers, tomatoes and feta.  Ethan Jay fought me over every piece of feta, I couldn't believe it!

And poor tuckered out Evie Kaye made herself a bed on the bathroom floor to go to sleep!
